Question by Critical Thinker: Does Islam prove that there must be an exception to “freedom of religion”?
The educated person knows that there are no absolutes. Given this maxim, we should also recognizes that there should not be an “absolute freedom of religion”. Islam is clearly the exception.
Currently, the only exceptions with regard to 1st amend. freedom of religion deal with singular issues and not whole religions. This means that, all religions, no matter how horrible, are allowed to enjoy the massive protections of the 1st amendment. However, this view is short-sighted, and in fact, the founding fathers considered changing the first amendment because of Islam (see Barbary Wars).
The major problem with an absolutist view on “freedom of religion” is that it underestimates the power of religion. Most people are religious, and the ignorant mass, the rabble, the panicky horde can be easily lead by any skilled religious pied piper, even against their nationlist loyalties.
A thourough study of Islam reveals a very successful methodology in terms of programming an nationlist overriding loyalty to the religion. Islam is a nationality in itself, which is why Muslims all over the world scream, riot, and create mayhem when Muslims on the other side of the world whine about stubbing their toe.
Its some combination of arrogance, ignorance, and stupidity that makes people underestimate the power of religion. Islam is merely an amalgmation of all the proven programming techniques from religions preceding, honed into a predatory monster that continues to grow and evolve.
One can look at Islam and make an argument that the concept of evolution is not limited to living organisms. In other words, idealogies can snowball into stronger and stronger predatory forces. Remember, Islam has always been at war and conquered much of the world right out of the gate. Today, almost all armed conflict worldwide is Islamic, and theres no question that the islamic rabble is passionately committed, in the hundreds of millions, to a violent assertion of their religious utopia. A world dominated by Islam.
